City Council Report April 25: The Central City Council unanimously passed PUD-3-16 Arbor Grove: PUD

The Central City Council unanimously passed PUD-3-16 Arbor Grove: PUD Final Development Plan after lengthy public commentary.

Mayor Jr. Shelton reported that some money left over from the GUSTAV fund - about 40 million dollars - may be redirected toward the DOTD effort to pursue culvert upgrades and culvert additions throughout state highways in Central. Shelton said Gov. Edwards pledged in a meeting on April 20 that he is working to get that money moved to upgrade state highways with DOTD.

“We heard what we wanted to hear and now we need to see the action from it,” Shelton said.

Central Police Chief James Salisbury reported nine fatalities within the city limits since the start of 2017. CPD does not work those fatalities.

David Ratcliff presented a map of the work completed so far regarding culvert, drainage canal and ditch cleaning.

The following ordinance was deferred for 30 days:
