Progress Update on Drainage Work

Note: The Army Corps of Engineers requested that the contracted work be broken down and submitted to them for approval in a total of 9 work packages.
Work on the following areas has been completed by LGS:
Work Package # 1 - Saunders Bayou from northern city limit south to Gentry Lane (private drive)
Work Package # 2 – Draughan Creek from southern city limit north to Greenwell Springs Road
Work Package # 3 – Beaver Bayou from southern city limit north to Wax Road
Work Package # 4 – Shoe Creek and un-named canals and drains from Bryce Canyon Drive north to Hooper Road
Work Package # 5 – Draughan Creek from Droze Road north to Fir Avenue and an un-named tributary starting at the intersection of Wax Road and Greenwell Springs Road north to Lawnside Avenue
Work Package #6- Beaver Bayou from Wax Road north to approximately 3,000 feet north of Hooper Road and an un-named canal/drain near Paint Avenue.
As of Friday (10/13/17)
LGS continues to work areas south of Work Package # 4 (Shoe Creek and un-named canals south of Lovett Road) and Work Package # 7
The work crews spent the week working in areas immediately adjacent to work packages # 4 and 6 where debris was observed, but was not known since it is located in canals that were not inspected during the pre-work walking assessments. The majority of which was located on or near Shoe Creek south of work package # 4. Although zero known sites were removed, significant tonnage was recorded.
- 0 of the known sites were removed this week.
- Debris is also being encountered between sites.
- 131 of the 219 known sites (total for all work packages) have been removed.
- 88 remaining known sites
- 603 Tons of debris have been removed to date
- 78,160 linear feet of channels have been cleaned to date.
