Welcome to the City of Central, La., which was incorporated on April 23, 2005.
Central is located in East Baton Rouge Parish, east of the cities of Baker and Zachary.
The city is bordered by the Comite River to the west, the Amite River to the east, and Highway 64 to the north.
Central's boundaries encompass approximately 66 square miles.
The city's estimated population is near 27,000 citizens with approximately 18,000 registered voters.

Mission to Nicaragua
Greenwell Springs Baptist Church is accepting donations for their Youth Ministry to end them on a mission to Nicaragua in August. The group will teach Bible classes, provide a small medical clinic, and serve food at the orphanage in one of the farm villages. Central Awarded More Than $320,000 for Master Plan Completion

Comite Drive Road Closure Information
Please notice the necessary road closure for Comite Drive from Foster Drive to Pettit Road for a period of 9 months beginning Tuesday, June 1.

The purpose of the road closure is to complete the installation of a new 125-foot bridge at Whites Bayou, the installation of the new public sewer system and the replacement of existing roadway.

The public is being notified of the road closure along with detour routes thru the newspaper and television stations, as well as posting on the Green Light Plan website.
