Heat is the main focus today going into Thursday.
Excessive Heat Warning continues today until 7:00 PM tonight.
Heat Advisory issued for tomorrow from 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM. Heat indices up to 108-111 degrees expected.
Tomorrow (Independence Day)
Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 1pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 92. Heat index values as high as 107. Chance of precipitation is 70% during the day with rainfall totals between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Tomorrow night - mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 77.
Elevated daily hit-or-miss rain chances expected to persist throughout the week (see below graphic).
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) continues to track Hurricane Beryl and any features in the Tropics.
Hurricane Beryl
Beryl is still a category 4 Hurricane moving west-north westward through the Caribbean.
It is forecast to move across the Yucatan Peninsula and emerge into the southwestern Gulf late Friday.
While no impacts are expected based on the current forecast, both the track and intensity forecast beyond Friday are less certain than normal and it should continue to be monitored.
System in the Central Atlantic
The NHC is also monitoring a system in the Central Atlantic that currently has a
Low (20%) Chance
of development in the next 7 days, and no direct impacts are expected from this system in the next 7 days.
