City of Central to Host Comprehensive Master Plan Workshop – CENTRAL 2045: Workshop to Focus on Future Land Use Map
CENTRAL, LA. – The City of Central invites residents to participate in an upcoming workshop for its long-range planning initiative, CENTRAL 2045: A Plan for the Future. The workshop will take place on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Central Community School System Board Conference Room, located at 11576 Sullivan Road.
This interactive event will center on the Future Land Use Map, a foundational element of the city’s updated comprehensive plan.
“We want to build upon the foundations established by the 2010 Land Use Plan and the efforts of decades past,” said Mayor Wade Evans. “CENTRAL 2045 is our general plan for land use and policy direction—a blueprint designed to meet the city’s current needs while preparing for the opportunities and challenges of the future.”
As part of the ongoing plan update, CENTRAL 2045 aims to reflect modern realities such as technological advancements, demographic shifts, and growing demands for resilience and sustainability. The update is not just a technical exercise but a critical opportunity for community dialogue and direction-setting.
“This plan encapsulates a shared vision for Central’s future,” Mayor Evans added. “We’re calling on all community members to get involved and lend their voices to the process. Your feedback will shape the future of our land, neighborhoods, and infrastructure.”
The plan comprises multiple chapters addressing a wide range of topics, including land use, housing, infrastructure, transportation, economic development, and healthy communities.
Residents are encouraged to attend this and future events to provide input and stay engaged in the planning process.
