Please see the below weather update from the National Weather Service (NWS) New Orleans / Baton Rouge.
Widespread 1 ½ - 2” of rainfall has fallen across the Parish since yesterday.
East Baton Rouge Parish is under a Flood Watch until Thursday evening.
There will likely be lulls in the showers and thunderstorms at times, but confidence in the specific timing of these lulls is low. The first potential lull looks to be late this afternoon through tonight.
Heavy rain threat continues through at least Thursday with a marginal risk (level 1 of 5) of severe weather today and tomorrow as well.
The threat of heavy rain has increased for Friday, especially across southeastern portions of the area, and the flood watch may need to be extended.
An additional 2-3” of rainfall is forecasted for EBR today through Friday with locally higher amounts possible.
