Please see the below update from the National Weather Service (NWS) New Orleans/Baton Rouge regarding Tropical Depression Two:
- The NWS and National Hurricane Center are currently monitoring Tropical Depression Two located over the northeastern Gulf.
- The depression is expected to gradually strengthen and forecasted to become a tropical storm as it moves northwestward.
- It is currently forecasted to cross the Mississippi and Louisiana coasts on Wednesday as it moves toward Texas on Thursday and Friday.
- Currently, the NWS is forecasting 0.25” - 0.50” of rainfall for our area from this storm.
- However, there is still a lot of uncertainty in the track and exact impacts from this storm. If the storm tracks farther inland, some of the heavier rainfall totals will track inland.
