Prepare Before Hurricane Season The best time to prepare for hurricanes is BEFORE hurricane season begins. Avoid having to rush through potentially life-saving preparations by waiting until it’s too late. Get your disaster supplies while the shelves are still stocked, and get that insurance checkup early, as flood insurance requires a 30-day waiting period. noaa.gov/prepare-before-hurricane-season

The first step of preparing for hurricanes is to know your risk. Find out today what types of water and wind hazards could happen where you live. Hurricanes are not just a coastal problem. Exciting News for Chaneyville Fire District Residents!🔥🚒 We are proud to share that the PIAL fire rating for the Chaneyville Fire District, which serves the northern portion of the City of Central, has officially improved! Their rating has moved from a PIAL “Class 5” to a strong PIAL “Class 4” — and they are now only 1.63 points away from reaching a Class 3 rating! This improvement means great news for homeowners: it can significantly help lower the cost of homeowner’s insurance for everyone in our fire district.
