The downtown master planning process, Plan Baton Rouge III, kicked off in February and also held an initial public open house event on May 30th. While the geography of this master plan is downtown, they understand that downtown Baton Rouge serves the capitol region, and they are asking for our participation in the process. How would you improve downtown Baton Rouge? What brings you downtown? What locations do you love? Where are challenges located and how can they be improved? Share your ideas with the Plan Baton Rouge team this week by participating in the “CoMap” participatory mapping survey. 📅 Survey Closes: Tuesday, June 3 🔗https://comap.sasaki.com/planbatonrouge/

Today, our Central Community School System teachers became students as they participated in a “Stop the Bleed” training led by the Louisiana Firefighters Foundation. This hands-on class equipped our educators with life-saving skills to control severe bleeding in emergency situations—crucial knowledge that could make all the difference before first responders arrive. Thank you to Central Fire Department for coordinating this training. Thanks to the City of Central, each teacher now has their own Stop the Bleed kit, ensuring they’re prepared to act quickly and confidently in a crisis. We’re grateful for this investment in safety and readiness across our schools.

"While we are flushing you may possibly experience lower pressure than normal and could have a tint in the water. If you use any water in your home during the posted flush times you may draw this water into your plumbing system. Toilets and hot water heaters have tanks that can keep this water around long after we are done. If you continue to have discoloration or cloudy water after the posted flush has ended, please let the cold water tap in your kitchen run for approximately 3-5 minutes. If the cold water in the kitchen is clear and the hot water and toilets still have a tint, they may require a brief flush. If any of these issues continue after the posted flush times, please call us at 225-925-2011."
